Members jw10 Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 So our band has a gig the 21st and 28th as previously stated. Would it be appropriate to have two Christmas party shows? Also, what are some crazy Christmas ideas?
Members Vito Corleone Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 I think everybody is done with Christmas by the 28th. I don't know if I'd wanna do a Christmas party then.
Members capitalist Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 We are playing on the 21st, but we are billing it as "The End of the World as We Know It" {we're an 80's band} gig instead of a Xmas show. We have over 65 people on Facebook that indicated they are going. At this rate, it is going to be packed.
Members wheresgrant3 Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 The Friday before Xmas we've held a big Xmas party at the same venue (this is our 4th year). It's not the greatest turnout but people have fun... and hell... I could use the money!
Members jeff42 Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 we are playing the 21st and God willingly the 22nd... the 21st is an END of the world partythe 22nd is We survived the apocalypse party so we will probably do the Christmas themed stuff then while welcoming everyone into Post-Apocalyptica!
Members jw10 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Members Posted December 4, 2012 Haha I dont think rem would fly with us... So looks like the 21st! May just Reuse some Christmas tunes for the 28th though.
Members mstreck Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 We've played some shows at that awkward time between Christmas and New Years. Promoted it as a "Bad Santa" party (we had a friend show up as Bad Santa) with the theme "Christmas is over, so let's be naughty!". Some girls dressed up as naughty elves. It went well.
Members jeff42 Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 we also have a gig dec 28th and on Jan 4th. Hopefully they arn't empty rooms. Its hard to tell... some years when we have gigged right after Christmas and the 1st weekend after nye it was good... some years it was crickets.
Members backtoblue Posted December 4, 2012 Members Posted December 4, 2012 We're playing a show on the 29th. It's being billed as a "Holiday Hangover" with several other popular area bands. Should be a good turnout.
