Members BlueStrat
Two solo gigs I play the tables go right up to the stage. I have watched others play there, and guys who stand on that stage have the patrons up front either craning their necks to watch them or staring at their crotch. One more reason I prefer to sit! Members souldonor
I stand when playing electric and in a band situation. When I play solo, (which is a majority of the time) I sit on a stool that I bring myself to the gig. I have a wah, an effects and a loop pedal that I use with my left foot I also play a kick drum, or a tamborine with my right foot. It is difficult to do standing. I have done it standing before, but I prefer sitting. Plus I play 4 hour gigs 4 to 6 nights a week. Sitting is just more comfortable. I have played as many as 6 hours straight sitting. Members Mike McLaughlin
I always stood for my solo gig until this year. Now I use a stool, and I'm sitting in an almost standing position so as to not affect my vocal. Over the last couple years working the harmonizer pedals while standing for 3-4 hours, I would get terrible foot cramps by the end of the night. Now I can stand, or lean, or sit on the stool during different songs and my feet thank me. It sucks getting old!
Members tinfish
if you're not excited enough by it to stand up, why should the audience be excited about it at all?
