Members joshmac
You guys ever seen anything like this before? I do the booking for a bar where they get their performers to sit on top of the bar on a stool. I play there every wednesday as well as 4-5 other dates per month. They do live tunes wed/thurs/fri/sat and are an irish pub/party bar. Nice short 3 hour long shows, amazing food, and super unique setup. How do you feel about this elevated setup, cool or not. Been doing it for 6 months now and it has been workin out great Check it out
Members SeniorBlues
I played a club in Albany, NY, long ago where the bar was horseshoe shaped and the stage was "inside" the horseshoe and the same height, if that makes sense. Very intimate; I dug it.
Moderators daddymack Posted December 23, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 23, 2013 OSHA would likely not approve. I certainly would not agree to climb up and sit on a seat perched on the bar. Tell those cheap Irish bestids to build you a decent stage.
Members Shaster
Obviously, women in short skirts need not apply!I wouldn't play on the bar counter. The chance of falling, or being pushed over when a fight broke out, and the possibility of being electrocuted with a drink spill, would rule that idea out for me.In my town there would be so many regulations against that (including sound level violations) that it would be a non starter.I have seen the "band in the bar" scenario mentioned above. It was at a casino in Niagara Falls. They had a duo there, but the stage was properly set and situated.
