Members GZsound
I have an opportunity to buy a couple of SRX JBL's for what appears to be a crazy low price. Anyone familiar with this series? Any good?

They are from a friend of mine who bought them new at a local retail outlet and has only used them a dozen times. They are two way 15's and he wants $300 for the pair.. needs money bad. What do you think?
Members ATOMICDOG1
Are they SRX 4700 series or SRX 700 series? Either way, $300 is less than half of what the cabs are each. Its an extremely low price. M
Members obgust
I bought mine new for $2200 a pair (SRX715) . They sound amazing and do not weigh too much. It sounds like a once in a life time deal to me.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted June 11, 2007 CMS Author Share Posted June 11, 2007 You should be able to peak at the drivers by removing the jackplate. If they say JBL and they sound right, jump on it.
Members nin4269
Buy them and eBay them for 3 times that, and you'd still make a happy auction winner. This sounds suspicious. Make sure you got all the information, and go for it is it seems right to you.

Members Axisplayer
Sounds more like JRX than SRX...are you sure?
Members agedhorse
Sounds more like JRX than SRX...are you sure? Ahh good point. Marketing slyness in model number selection! Intentional confusion to the lower end market.

Well, like I said, I know this guy really well. He is a client of mine and he bought the speakers at a local retail outlet and has only used them a few times. I trust him totally. I'm sure the thought that the guy could really like me is staggering..but.. He is a great client. We have been working together for five years on a nearly weekly basis. I am going to eyeball the speakers within the next couple of days and make sure they are what he says. They very well may be JRX and he may be confused. He's not a gear geek, he simply asked the retail music store what the best speakers were that they carried in stock..he said they were SRX speakers.. This is a guy that makes over 60K a year singing Frank Sinatra hits to Karoake tracks. With a Fender Passport PA. Not a gear geek...
