Members throttleman
That description was... painful. Don't care for the cabs either, but that is just me.
Members axeman6969
I just couldn't bring myself to read it. Just couldn't help but wonder why no grills. Maybe it's in the giant run-on sentence.
Members bassred
I kinda like the aluminum look, not sure about the dual HF horns, though...
Members agedhorse
Lots of information betwen the lines... first thin MDF sandwiched in aluminum and made in China? Something goofy here. Second, the dual MF/HF horns is also goofy, and the sub going up to 180Hz is odd given the size and power bandwidth of the midrange, especially with the HPL type drivers. IMO, this is a "pile" that's being sold as something that it's not. There's plenty that will outperform for less size/weight/hassle/cost IMO. Members Not Serial
looks like silver spay paint. if you look close you can see bare wood in spots.
Members agedhorse
Good point, maybe it's the extremely rare and precious aluminized Chinese sandwichwood, the aluminum is really a microscopicly thin aerosol coating that was applied (by an artist's hand) from the sacred can. Members J.
looks like silver spay paint. if you look close you can see bare wood in spots. Yep, that's exactly what it is. I've used silver spray paint on wood and that's definitely what's going on there. It's not even a good spray paint job either. They would look a lot better if they were covered with anything... carpet, tolex, bedliner, etc. That paint looks horrible. Those top cabs are HUGE too! Toting those around wouldn't be any fun. One thing is sure, the whole system was conceived while seated on the sacred can
Members agedhorse
Two horns like that will make for an interesting response curve and diffraction pattern if nothing else.

CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted September 26, 2007 CMS Author Share Posted September 26, 2007 They tout that they are designed for touring. That aluminum MUST rattle! That's not a "rattle"; it's a physchoacoustic sympathic harmonic reinforcement. 1/4" MDF. Yeah, strong and light.
Members 6Imzadi
The sub weighs a whopping 38 pounds!
Members agedhorse
The sub weighs a whopping 38 pounds! I think the driver weighs more than that. If the weight is not accurate, how about the other claims?
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted September 26, 2007 CMS Author Share Posted September 26, 2007 The sub weighs a whopping 38 pounds! 1/4" MDF weighs about 40lb per 4x8 sheet. It would take about a full sheet to build a box that size. Add the aluminum and the driver to that. I can't imagine a worse combination of materials for a portable cabinet. (No offense agedhorse) Question & Answer Answered On Sep-25-07 Q: Greetings: Have you weighted the speakers? If so, could you please send the numbers? If not, what would you estimate the weights? Thanks, Jeff 7jk ...more A: I will try to get a scale here in the next day or so to get the actual but estimate the Mid cabinets to be 50lbs, the woofers 38 lbs.and the gear racks...more
Members agedhorse
Something is definately not right, even the box by itself would weigh more than that... Maybe he means KILOS? I also recall something about Auratone no longer existing... recones may not be possible if that's true.

Members Mogwix
Haha i'd probably get it just for the power racks and (maybe) the mixer if the price was a little lower.
