Members SteinbergerHack
Last night, midway through the second set, my mains amp - XSL402 - stopped operating - no lights, no sound. Tried swapping power cables, speaker loads, inputs, etc. - nothing. No power light. The breaker wasn't tripped (power strip or amp), no load problems (finished the night with another amp), and we were in a fairly small club, so we weren't very loud. End of the night after it had cooled off - still nothing. It's a doorstop. Setup: dbx321 xover into XLS402 for mid/high and a 602 for "subs". Mid/high are JBL JRX115, bottoms are JRX118. XLS 402 was set up in stereo, with one 115 on each side (8 Ohms, should cause no loading problem). This was a new amp - got it in early December, and it's only had a handful of shows on it, and no abuse. Anybody else had problems with these amps, or did I just get "lucky"? Members agedhorse
Give Crown a call, that's why a warranty came with yuor amp. My experience is that the factory service guys are better than many of the service shops these days, they have the experience and parts in stock to repair their amps most efficiently.
