Crown xls vs qsc gx

This is what it says for the crown xls :Features sophisticated protection circuitry (from shorted, open, or mismatched loads, input and high frequency overloads

is that almost the same thing as the guardrail on the qsc gx amps?

No, "Guardrail" is QSC's version of Peavey's DDT and is a clip limiter. The XLS lacks any clip limiting and should only be used with a DSP or some such for limiting IMNSHO.

Nope. Guardrail is a clip limiter system that also reduces the outputthreshold as amp temperature gets high. Works very well, I tested an early unit and it was excellent.
