Members Ryan.
Is it different magnets, cone material, etc? Why do you put a 15W celestion into an Egnater and a 25W into a Marshall half stack? And does 4x25W really equal 100W?

Members Ryan.
Yeah, but I remember my high school physics class... just cause you put a log of equal size on the fire doesn't mean the fire burns twice as hot.

Members Ryan.
Caveman physics? Ha. Yes. I was sixteen and in a band asking why when you add another speaker you don't get twice the sound. I really liked my physics teacher in HS, unfortunately when our school switched two a "block" schedule (8 classes per year) the physics lecture had to be cut short. So sound physics was cut from the curriculum.

Meaning the answer is too difficult to put into a small response on HC and I should probably go do some reading?

Members monthlymixcd
My 80W Marshall 8x10 cab only puts out 1/2 the perceived volume of my 1x12 Celestion Century Neo cab... all other things being equal. Mostly driver efficiency at work there, but it's a lot like cooking/chemistry where a+b+c=x
