Members Superman999
Hey guys so I received this guitar from my grandmother when she passed. It's a h162 with the number 926 in front of the H, couldn't find what that meant. but it's the smaller 3/4 size. I have no need for it as I have two other full size guitars so I threw it up on Craigslist for $100 Canadian with the hardcase. I'm asking because someone immediately said they want it and would drive from over an hour away to get it and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely screwing my self. The pics are too big to upload so here's the link to my ad. Thanks for your help!! http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/pml/msg/5915234138.html
Members DeepEnd
First, hi and welcome to the Forum. A quick web search turned up four of them for sale, ranging from US$150 to 220:http://davesguitar.com/products/harm...h162-late-60s/https://reverb.com/item/19612-harmon...-guitar-1960-shttps://reverb.com/item/3346869-harmony-h162http://www.musicgoround.com/p/566052...coustic-guitarThat's about CAN$200 to 290. Mind you, all those guitars have pickguards, which yours doesn't. I don't know how much value the guitar would lose from that but you may want to raise your asking price if the guitar is in good condition otherwise. Members Tony Burns
Those are half way decent guitars , kinda basic guitars from their era - but by today's standardstheir a great guitar -id say your price is about half of a fair price -maybe 200-250 U.S currency .( if the neck is ok )maybe hold onto it , put some light PB's on it -oil up the fingerboard and play that sucker -what do you have to lose . alot of players really look for those older Harmonys as well as the Kay brand .i had an older large Kay ive been very sorrry i sold ( a long time ago ) Im also a believer that no pickguard helps their tone ( your grandmother had good taste )
