Members rockfan
I have been interested in purchasing a Moog Voyager, but Moog has now begun production of the classic Model D, which I always wanted. This is a tough choice for me. I like the Voyager mainly for the patch storage since the Model D doesn't have it, but the Model D is the classic Moog synth, and now has MIDI. What do you guys think I should get? Thanks! Members moogerfooger
as someone who has had at least 1 model D since 1974 and have had as many as 3. get the voyager. my choice would be the voyager XL. with the addition of a CV/ gate patch bay it open up possibilities not possible on a D. not only that you'll be able to patch other modular devices such as the mother 32 or any CV /gate controllable devices into a huge system. besides the reissued D will sound very similar to the voyager if not identical. the magic of the old D's was that every one was a little different and had its own character. I doubt the reissue will possess the same mojo.
