TheGigRig is known for its ambitious pedalboard solutions, but the AutoPot is perhaps its most impressive creation yet: an automated pot turner that gives you full MIDI control over just about any pedal parameter. Using a MIDI control or loop switching system (such as TheGigRig's acclaimed G2), players can program presets on analogue pedals without any electronic modding.

Each AutoPot controller unit can connect up to three AutoPot arms, and the controllers can all be linked via MIDI out/thru connections, so multiple APs can work together, while hooking up an expression pedal input gives you real-time control.

  • Nord Piano 3 emulates the hammer movements of a real grand
    nord-piano-3-970-80.jpg

In hindsight, Clavia's Nord NAMM teaser video told us quite a bit about the company's new keyboard. It featured a fine-sounding piano, and there was plenty of focus on the keyboard action. And, as it turns out, that's a pretty good way to sum up the Nord Piano 3.

This features the new Virtual Hammer Action Technology, which is designed to simulate the movement of the hammers in a grand piano and giving you improved key response. The result, with any luck, will be better dynamics and improved overall authenticity. There's also 'Ivory Touch' for an enhanced feel.

Other new features include an OLED display for a better overview of what you're doing on the instrument and expanded memory for the Nord Piano Library.

Looks like the Variax is going to have some competition:

VOX introduced the Starstream Type-1, a guitar equipped with VET (Virtual Element Technology), that provides a wide range of sounds, with 27 instrument models including electric guitar, acoustic guitar, synths and other stringed instruments. Using highly developed DSP logic and fine tuning information from the string itself, Starstream Type-1 provides authentic synth sounds that can be played naturally and without fear of glitches or missed notes. Exclusively developed AREOS-D system uses the guitar’s traditional magnetic pickups to create the electric guitar sounds for greater realism and accuracy and the Starstream integrates several essential elements; a piezo pickup system for rich-sounding traditional and acoustic instruments; a powerful DSP engine; familiar volume, tone and pickup selector controls. The AREOS-D Control Module allows for instant access to important tone-shaping parameters.

but came to post that new Chase Bliss pedal, indeed a delay

12565480_745071842259637_178205407024109226_n.jpg?oh=a8d44a81f4953ec65708d0b577c5df79&oe=5731E560

Features Overview:

*100% analog signal path, full digital control of parameters. No digital conversion or processing.

*2 onboard save-able presets + live mode for 3 distinct settings (expandable to 122 with a midi controller).

*Tap Tempo / Hold for setting delay time via tap. Holding the switch gives runaway oscillation. 6 delay subdivisions including dotted eighth note.

*True bypass or buffered bypass with trails.

*2 Xvive MN3005 delay chips.

*SLB (short, long, both) selects between 1 MN3005 (i.e. DM2), 2 MN3005 (i.e DMM), and both for a multi-tap mixed output of the two for more of a washed out / reverby sound.

*Circuit is tuned for 550ms max delay time (longer delays are possible via trimmer adjustment, but compromises tap tempo accuracy and optimal clock filtering).

*Sine, triangle, and square wave modulation with independent rate and depth controls. At max depth, madness ensues.

*Full midi implementation to control presets and parameters.

*Expression / CV control over any parameter individually or simultaneously.

*Ramping over any parameter individually or simultaneously.

*Tone control for full range of clear or dark repeats.

*Mix Control goes 100% dry to 100% wet. On "short" delay setting, pedal can be used as a vibrato or chorus.

*Internal trimmer for max regeneration. Pedal ships with self-oscillation abilities, with the potential to get wilder.

3rd Power has unveiled its new Citizen Gain guitar amp, which is hand-built in the company's East Nashville, Tennessee, shop.

Operating on a pair of EL34 power tubes, the Citizen Gain is a great-looking, higher-gain tube amplifier that’s capable of sounding and feeling like a 100-watt high-gain beast—but at volume levels associated with 1 watt and up to 40 watts,

Paiste to unveil deluge of new cymbals The individual cymbals are designed to be multifunctional and work well across the range as both crashes and rides.

Elsewhere, the Formula 602 Modern Essentials gains a 22" Crash and a 24" Ride. Modern Essentials cymbals were developed in collaboration with Vinnie Colaiuta, based on the Formula 602. The new models were designed in response to Colaiuta’s desire for maximum depth, volume and power.

The launch of the 2002 Black Big Beat range coincides with the 40th anniversary of the brand’s 2002 series. Big Beat cymbals are available in 18", 19", 20", 21", 22" and 24" singles, and 15" and 16" pairs

a5d8ba1f7d8a1afe4ad5acdd8372f772.png In addition, the Giant Beat in 26" aims to deliver a ‘clear and powerful stick sound, a pearly wooden ping, a deep wash, a swelling crash and a strong and articulate bell’.

Paiste is making the Formula 602 Modern Essentials Crash, the Masters Dark Crash, and thePST 7 Crash & Thin Crash models available in 17" and 19" sizes.

Paiste is also introducing the new Signature 22" Dry Heavy Ride Monad. The Monad 22" Dry Heavy Ride was created in collaboration with Tool drummer Danny Carey, The newly developed model is based on the traditional Signature Dry Heavy Ride, the model is coated in translucent purple, and features a lathed bell, using the unique Reflector finish.

Adding to the firm’s Signature line-up is the Vir2osity 20" Duo Ride, created in collaboration with Carl Palmer, loosely based on the original Signature Dry Dark Ride, with its characteristic, pronounced hammer marks on an earthy dark surface - the result of intense heat treatment. The outer perimeter and the bell of the cymbal are then lathed using the Reflector finish.

The Vir2osity 20" Duo Ride is designed to execute Palmer’s exclusive ideas for a variable ride cymbal with distinct playing zones. The label Vir2osity and a rendition of Carl’s personal emblem have been placed on the cymbal.

Furthermore, Paise introduces the Signature Groove 24" Swish Ride, which was created in collaboration with drummer John JR Robinson

The newly developed model was conceived as a complimentary ride cymbal to his Masters 24" Deep Ride. It is based on a variation of the traditional Chinese style cymbal shape commonly referred to as ‘Swish’, and executed utilising 2002 Alloy

Lastly, the firm launches the Masters 20" Mellow Ride Blue Bird, created in collaboration with André ‘Dédé’ Ceccarelli, the Blue Bird 20" Mellow Ride is a medium light cymbal with a ‘distinctly sweet character and a fine, buttery feel’.
