Members burton4snow
Has anybody used these. I am looking for the original P90 snarl and growl everybody talks about. It is going in a DIY guitar with one P90 slot and tone and volume. please suggest P90s with the traditional sound. Trying to keep it under $
Members billybilly
Yes I've tried them and they will give you what you are after. You can find lots of used pickups on Reverb too from the major suppliers like Duncan, Dimarzio, etc.. in your price range.

Members stormin1155
I have a set in my Hamer XT series. This is a guitar I've not played a lot, but I took it to practice last night and was really amazed at how pick sensitive they are. With my amp set to a moderate gain they can go from crystal clean to nasty snarl just by digging in. I recently compared them to a Gibson LP Special I had in my shop, and they were brighter and crisper. The Gibson sounded muddy by comparison.
