Members TRU
If you were NOT to go original, what pickups would you put in a two-pickup Rocket?I bought a cheap Rocket w/o its guts. Now I need the wiring and pick-ups.Those moustache-D'Armond-Gold-Foil-Whatevers ain't cheap. YIPES!So in your minds, what's Plan B?And no...Im not frickin SHREDDING. Just electric folk blues, with some edge to it.
Members speakerjones
There are other builders starting to build replacement gold foils now. Not sure if they're any cheaper than the originals. They're kind of an odd size, right? The closest thing might be a mini bucker. Seymour Duncan makes some nice ones. Members wankdeplank
I think the originals were surface mounts and an odd shape so this might be a bit problematic, but these gold foil copies from GFS look very tasty indeed: http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-Gold-Foil-Pickups_c_525.html Oh and big congrats on the Rocket, those are seriously fabulous guitars. Members Elias Graves
Check out the GFS NYII pickup. It's a surface mount. Lollar makes a reproduction now...$190 EACH!
