Members Kalina2
Hey, guys! One of my friends is now a folding subwoofer that Russian masters made and designed by his order: Power 1400W, built-in amplification, each weighing about 15 kg halves, volume - 90 liters, the price to the cost of the assembly about $ 1000 ....... I did not hear the sound of this sub, but my friend assures me that this sub is great! it is easy, convenient and powerful .... What do you think about this? I forgot to add: Speaker special - for small displacement, produced specially for the "Martin" CIARE NDE15-4S 8ом 2000 Watt Max Power 100 mm (4 in) voice coil, copper wire Double spider for improved control and linearity Neodymium magnet assembly Interleaved sandwich voice coil Weather protected membrane for outdoor use Ventilated voice coil and magnet circuit for improved heat dissipation Air gap height = mm 14 Winding height = mm

Members soulx
Perhaps I do not understand the point or the concept of what's going on here? It appears to be a rather large volume subwoofer cabinet that splits in half (maybe for transport purposes).

LOL but seriously speaking, this subwoofer I have not heard. That's why I asked you for your opinion. whether such a compact subwoofer power 1.5 To develop and provide sufficient pressure without distorting the sound
Members soulx
It does not appear to be particularly compact. Just oddly shaped.

Members soulx
it really is very compact The baffle only looks to be about 18 inches square, but the thing looks more than 30 inches deep all locked together. Which isn't significantly differently sized than, say, a QSC KW181 and similar products. It's just really deep with a smaller profile, instead of cube shaped. Members soulx
What is the benefit? Only thing I can think of is that one could fit it in the trunk of a typical sedan. Lots of subs will fit volume wise, but are too wide in all directions to go through the opening.

Members soulx
The rear porting does reduce the baffle size, but it doesn't do anything to reduce the overall cabinet volume.
Members Pro Sound Guy
What kind of real SPL and true "sub" frequencies can one get out of a box that tiny? This would maybe work for an acoustic act to make a couple of dual 12" two ways full range. If you are going to post a home made box you might be prepared to get honest opinions. If you had that loudspeaker in a large bent horn THEN you would get results.
