Members jeremy_green
Bb kings ( blues all around me) story is great as is Hendrix (room full of mirrors). The Zappa bio by Barry Miles is great too... So is Miles Davis autobiography. Zeppelin "hammer of the gods" is an old standby as well. The best music bio book I ever read though was by Geoff Emerick. The Beatles engineer. His book here, there and everywhere had me riveted.
Members time2kill
The October issue of Guitar World magazine has an article about Buddy Guy. He has just released his book called "When I Left Home: My Story".The article has excerpts from the book. It is fasinating. In 1957 he left Louisiana and went to Chicago. He couldn't find a job, he was penniless, and it had been two days since he had a square meal.......... quoting.......OOPS!Probably shouldn't be quoting copyright material. Anyway...Sounds like a great book to me.
Members jeremy_green
I just finished reading Buddy's book and it is a really great read too. I love reading book from the early times as spoken through someone who lived it and was there. Some very cool perspectives on the blues and it being as much a way of life as a music form. Beautiful stuff.
