Members Faber
I'm looking for recommendations on a graphic EQ pedal. I'm looking for something that won't mess too much with my sound when bypassed. I'll be using mostly as a fat boost with my strat. Thanks
Members morder
Are you looking for a 7-band or a 12-band? I guess anyone will do really. I'd go for a used boss GE-7 off ebay. I've heard that danelectro has some 7band eq that's dirt cheap. Probably less quality than the boss though.

Members GorillaLover
my understanding is that the Dano sounds better and the boss has a better housing I had a boss and found it took away from my sound more than it gave back in return.. I got rid of it and I'm thinking of buying a dano..
Members Lanefair
Search this forum long enough and you'll see that for the money, the Dano pedal is a must on anyones board, it's extremely quiet. I use it for solo boosting. But it's good as an EQ too.

Members Faber
Thanks, i'll see if I can find a dano to try out. Dano dealers seems to fairly rare around here though, so it'll probably take a bit of leg work.

Members Sordid1
I have an MXR 6 band that I really like and it's better than the Boss imho. I haven't tried a fish n chips but I haven't heard a bad word about them as of yet.
Members Bloo
i was looking for a dano eq but couldn't find one, not even on the spam thread (until today). i ended up buying a used boss at GC for $45, i couldn't pass up on the deal, well, is it a good deal? i still want to try the dano though. first impressions on the the EQ pedal, why didn't i get one before!? it really works great as a boost but i bought it to level off the low-end on my Frantone Peachfuzz and it sounds great! Members Speeddemon
I've owned 5 different Boss GE-7's so far, so one could say I know a thing or two 'bout 'dem. Get a Japanese one or a black label Taiwanese one, replace the 4 opamps (022D JRC's) with TL072's.Voila, now you can max all frequency sliders (and the level slider at '0'), and NO extra noise whatsoever.Seriously, these things are great when you know how to use them. Members Speeddemon
desolder them. But they're in a row, easily noticable. I installed sockets for them.
