Seriously tho,

I have an ebay scan that runs and reports
anything like that (the Ludwig).

The only thing I've seen in 4 months was
a sales/demo-tape of that pedal.
That tape went for about $26.

I'd be honored just to have a chance at hearing one,
much less owning one.

Builders: CLONE IT !

...after all, it's just discrete components.
...how hard can that be?

That's how hard. Not your typical 8 component fuzz, that. Would cost a mint to clone, and the price needed to recoup expenses would put it out of reach for most pedal geeks.

Jtreu,

The scan is easy...make it in "My Searches"
I scan for "ludwig (phase,phaser,phasor,phaserii,phasorii)"

and have it email you if it ever finds anything.

Do not, I repeat, NOT, scan for the words "pedal" and
"Ludwig" in the same scan, unless you are looking for
drumkit bits and pieces.

sstim8or,

Thanks for the schematic link.

It still fits on a couple 4x6 pcb cards, at most.
Are the transistor types listed anywhere?
This looks like a fun weekend project.

It's been a while since I laid out a discrete PCB,
but that looks like a single-sided job, at most.
...now where did I put that HF acid?

I agree. It looks like 4 PCBs (with two copies of the formant one one with a trip pot one with a fixed R) for a total of 5 PCBs would do it. Not that much there. I would guess generic silicon transistors would work, 2N3904 and 2N3906.

heh heh...i have the schematics still for it if anybody wants them!!!
buit ya gotta build me one too!!!!
;-)
i had one back in the mid 70's ....what a great pedal...
i traded it for a shobud volume pedal, an ac30 and a sack of panama red....
big mistake....somebody shoot me!!!!!

i think the biggest prob with cloning one is parts availabiliyty....

some of the switches and things were custom made for it and impossible to find.

i will try and locate the schem and post it when i find it...i know it's on a least a couple of archived cds....but i have a couple hundred so it may take a while...
duh....guess i shoulda read the whole thread, ya already have it!!!
phew!!!
less work for me!!!
seriously tho, i unloaded it cuz the bypass footswitch broke and was impossible to replace it was like a 6pdt switch or something.
absolutely THE coolest pedal of ALL TIME, IMHO.

6PDT? Only solution to that is a relay. Then you get your TB and all the rest with minimal torture.

I am going to have to check our circuit board software at work and see about making some PCBs. I might do some minor mods (more bypassing), but that would be all.
