Members danut
The bad news is that before looking into such effects, you should reconsider the guitar and the amp. Those bands use (read abuse) downtuned 7 strings guitars and very serious high gain tube amplifiers. I'm not sure how close to that can your current stuff go.And welcome to the forum! Members Juat
thank you DANUT!! its too bad, becuase a new guitar now is not an option. but soon, i hope! is there a pedal (or maybe 2?) that could help me right now???
Members alteredsounds
+1 on the amp and guitars but you could try a nice tight scooped distortion. The MXR Dimebag is heavier than Meatloaf carrying a Sumo wrestler.

Members freeridstylee
Looking at your setup, I'd pick up either the danelectro fab metal or the behringer Ultra metal to tide you over, they sound good from what I hear, plus they're less then 20, start putting some $$ away for an amp. If your Johnson amp can be set for a neutral, flat clean tone, with plenty of headroom, I suggest looking into the following pedals:- Tech 21 SansAmp GT-2- Zoom Tri-Metal- Line6 ToneCore Uber MetalI admit I never tried them, but these pedals are the most recommended by fellow forumites when somebody asks for over the top metal tones. Good luck!
