Members ElectricPuppy
Gigging with it may have broke loose a questionable solder joint that's now sensitive to temperature (have to leave it off to get it to work again). I think the best thing would be to send it to a reputable service tech.

Members realtrance
Yup don't try to fool around with this yourself, unless you really enjoy that sort of thing and are willing to take the risk. Chances are it could be something simple, like a dried-up capacitor in the power supply (easily replaceable by someone who knows what they're doing); or something more subtle, like a hidden solder-joint. That will take the patience and knowledge of a good tech to handle, by contrast.

Members gilwe
I had two JX8Ps acting the same. They worked for a while then just reset themselves. The chasis was too hot when I checked it out. I'd say look for parts that heat too much, might be the CPU... the regular things have to be checked, you know, check for correct voltages first, when it works fine and when the problem rises up... Members flattop
Though power supply should possibly be considered here, I would look at the connection for the output also. Wes TaggartAnalogicshttp://www.analogics.org
