And Husker Du's "fuzz" was a vintage MXR Distortion+ (you could try a Ross Distortion too) cranked through a solid state amp. That really raspy, grainy fuzz on JAMC records is a Shin-Ei Companion fuzz. Radiohead also uses them, so the price for used Shin-Ei's are way jacked on Ebay. Many settings on the Fuzz Factory with different amps and amp settings and different guitars can sound like just about anybody. I think it's the best Fuzz.
