Frequency Analyser or Moog RM?

depends on how one uses a ring mod

the moog is clearly the most versatile and is well made.

the moog has a lot of external control options.

planning on buying a control processor?

do you need an external carrier input for your pitch to voltage converter?

plan on using your ring mod carrier to modulate another pedal?

how many expression pedals do you have?

the EH is a very basic, great sounding pedal

the most common way (but certainly not the only way) for one to use a ring mod is to tune the the pitch of the internal carrier to the key of the song. on my maestro, i hook up a tuner to the external carrier out, on my snarling dogs its easy to just find the pitch with the pedal by ear, the moog can do both. the EH is with a knob and by ear.

the zvex has a great idea of being able to set up each step in a different key so if you want any key you just step to that key like a preset. no carrier out means it must be tuned pretty much by ear before every show. kind of a pain in the ass, but still a great idea.

It's pretty easy to add expression to the Frequency Analyzer too. I can't find it right now but there's a thread somewhere in the Experimentalists Anonymous website about it.

Scroll down, they have some sound samples of it.

CV and Expression control are two different things. That mod isn't expression control.

For me its the ringtone or the FA. I didn't like the moog at all.

What about the Copilot Android?

$120 for a simple, dirty ring mod that loves boosts and buffers and has an expression out.

It's not a frequency analyzer, however, and has it's own distinct sound.
