But being a "professional musician" (or engineer, in my case) requires making legitimate (aka taxable) business transactions as proof of making your living as a musician. Before i didn't know you can deduct your loans and IRA. You can deduct your car registration, and if you donate to charity or gave away a car, that helps too. A bunch of incentives.
