Members thorology
I just realized how similar The Raconteurs "Steady as she goes" is to Self's "Paint by Numbers". IMHO I think they are way to similar. I actually thought at first that The Raconteurs were covering Self... Sorry for the lame as clip of "Paint by Number". Couldn't find anything better but if you're interrested you can download the song and give it a closer look. Members rileykill
Yeah it's pretty close. That's a great Self record BTW (Breakfast With Girls, right?) ... don't hear Matt M. mentioned very often but he puts out some great stuff. Edit: ok obviously I need to listen to the Self song again but working from memory isn't the progression pretty close except in a different key? Maybe not ... I'll check it out when I get home. Members Mr Songwriter
I always thought it sounded like that 'Scooby snacks' song by Fun loving criminals, or maybe they're both ripping off Joe Jackson? Members Noise...
The chord progressions are similar, but that's about it. They definitely aren't copying...I'd say the just sound similar because of the chord progression used. If you listen to both, the song structures are different.
