Phil O'Keefe Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 If you have a PRII, could you do me a big favor and take a look at the reverb tank and write down / post all the numbers that are stamped on the tank? My tank's been replaced, and I'm trying to determine what the stock tank was. Thanks!
Members monkeyland Posted May 19, 2008 Members Posted May 19, 2008 obviously i know that the amps are different and may use different tanks but the tank from my concert II is an accutronics with 23572-0 stamped into one end

Members monkeyland Posted May 19, 2008 Members Posted May 19, 2008 Thanks for checking. Is it a long tank (17" or so) or a short (9" or so) tank? long tank...and it's no problem. the tank is out of the amp right now
Phil O'Keefe Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 I have a long tank in mine, but stock it was a short tank, so they're definitely different, but again, I do appreciate you checking on it for me - thanks.

Members amp_surgeon Posted May 20, 2008 Members Posted May 20, 2008 Don't have a PRII, but I have a Princeton '65 with a short tank. Accutronics. Number stamped on top is 8EB2C1R. Numbers stamped on back are 028055 and 20 56 02.

Members amp_surgeon Posted May 20, 2008 Members Posted May 20, 2008 And thanks for checking that too... but alas, I really need the numbers from a stock PRII tank - the impedance might be different on another amp... Fender part number was 018454. Members Demented Avenger Posted May 31, 2008 Members Posted May 31, 2008 I want one. if anyone is selling?
Phil O'Keefe Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 Fender part number was 018454. Check page 3: http://www.geocities.com/twoseriesfenders/priischematicwiringpartslist.pdf There's an entire site dedicated to that little fella! http://geocities.com/princerev2/ Thanks for the info. I was already familiar with the PRII site (my personal PRII is the single "Batch F" amp that is listed there), and I already knew the Fender part number, but what I'm hoping to find is the actual numbers that are stamped on the tank itself - that will tell me various things about the tank - impedance, etc. BTW, I couldn't get into the first site you linked to - maybe they've exceeded their bandwidth limitations. I'll try again later. Thanks again for your help though.
Phil O'Keefe Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 Bumping an old thread to add some information - for future reference, this site (tubeampdoctor.com) says that the original tank was a 8AB3C1B. The information is indeed also up in the PRII site, in the FAQ sectionL http://www.stratopastor.org.uk/strato/amps/prii/faq/faq.html Apparently it's the same tank as the one used in the Super Champ - which is nice for me since I can just pop the one out of my SC and try it in my PRII to directly compare the short and long tanks.
