Members seifukusha
i can understand not being linked up with other pedals but my BOSS HM-2 and DF-2 sounds really good by themselves. I was going to chuck the df2 but somehow, i like it by itself. Anyone get what im saying, maybe im saying it clear enough.. just strange though. Members Keith SIO
I get it, both of those pedals are freaking awesome. Any experience with the OD-3?? I am considering one.
Members friction
OD-3 was one of my favorite overdrives and the best Boss dirt pedal I'd tried in my opinion. I impulsively traded mine one day and I really want to get another one soon.
Members willburford
I've got a boss ds-2 in the mail - excited. I want an od-3 as well.
Members seifukusha
no, no, i dont mean those pedals are awesome, im just wondering why they sound so different with a battery vs a adapter. and no, the od3 does look cool, but ive not tried.. Members Keith SIO
I think the HM-2 sounds different with a battery because it is very responsive to the battery's life. On a low battery mine gets very glitchy and fuzz factory like. Fully juiced, it sounds like it does with an adapter but only for so long. I haven't experimented with the DF-2. Members seifukusha
hmm..my hm2 souds like an ocatve up fuzz with an adapter.. i like it much better with a hm-2. why do you think that is? yours doesnt sound like an octave fuzz tih an adapter?!? hmm

It won't work with some adapters, and it reacts to battery's life, might be a voltage thing. With an adapter my HM-2 sounds marshally. Also if I run any gain pedals into my HM-2 and have my neck pickup of my strat on, it turns into a crazy sounding velcro fuzz. I don't understand why at all, but it sounds badass. Members Keith SIO
OD-3>BD-2?? Can't believe it... I'm hopign the OD-3 doesnt have the fizz the bd-2 does. BD-2 is nice, but I don't like the fizzle, and don't care enough for a mod.
Members rocket34bg
hmm i haven't tried my df-2 by itself or with a battery. i need to do that. i just have so many pedals.. batteries seem like a bad idea... great pedal though, needs an eq or another distortion to give it some more bass, though

Members Belt
maybe the decay of the battery is producing a sound that you like's kinda like dieing tubes maybe
Members melx
don't all dirt pedals sound better with a battery? they do i'm my experience.
Members m_Calavera
Boss Dirt Pedals sound great wait, what? but i heard they suck tone? don't all dirt pedals sound better with a battery? they do i'm my experience. I don't think the difference is huage like, not enough to avoid using a PSU if there's one on the board already.... but i do prefer fuzzes with batteries. Members Fender&EHX4ever
don't all dirt pedals sound better with a battery? My Germanium O.D. sounds better w/ a battery. Can't say the same about the Big Muff or the Hot Tubes (no choice there).
