Micro amp or EQ pedal at the end of pedal chain?

I'm running an effects chain of about 8 pedals most of which are not TB. I want to add something at the end to give me some presence and a slight boost. Would you guys recommend an MXR micro amp or an EQ pedal with a boost (GE-7)

What 8 pedals are they? Maybe you just need to set them up differently. I would go for a clean boost in this case. An eq is simply complicating the signal path even more.

Microamps are great. Get one for the fin of it anyway.

Yeah I would just put a boost at the start of the chain to drive all the other effects.

You should put the Fuzz Factory first. It really doesn't like to be placed after a buffered effect like the TU-2. Maybe placing the tuner in a different location will clear up your problem.

Another option would be to get a 3 looper with a tuner mute. Then do this:

 

Loop1: Fuzz Factory > Rat II

Loop2: PS-3 >Phase > Trem

Loop3: Delay > Digiverb

Tuner out: Tuner

 

That way you'd have between 0 and 7 pedals in the path at any one time instead of 8 all the time.

hmmm, i didnt think of this, I might try this, but what if i want some fuzz with trem and delay all at once? would i turn on all the loops?

Sure.

 

There was also a thread where some guys where singing praises about putting the TU-2 at the end.
