Quick off the cuff, honeymoon impression of the Superdelay

Not a review at all.

The following is a quote that i sent to the Shawn at Analogue Haven (where i bought my Superdelay).

Holy {censored}!

That thing is amazing!

The first digital delay that i really liked was the DD-20 (i've had mine since they first came out). The Empress makes my DD-20 sound completely fake. It's a perfect complement to my Malekko 600 bright (which is adds a certain euphony to the sound). I would describe the Empress as very neutral, but not in a dull or uninteresting way. it's very engaging. This seems to be worth every penny of what it costs.

Thanks Shawn!

best,

sonny

p.s I just can't quit with the reverse looper, it's just so fun!

It does indeed!
You can also control the oscillation (or the mix) with an expression pedal.
I just can't stop playing since i bought this pedal. I've never enjoyed delay so much and i've had a lot of delays, old Echoplexes, AD-80, DMM, etc.
I love how this delay doesn't color my sound.
I could sell these things (don't worry, i don't.)
Did i mention how cool the reverse loop is?

Oh man..... this only makes my GAS stronger. This is my next purchase for sure.

You won't be sorry. I never really loved delay until i got this pedal.

I just wish my description did it justice (which it doesn't).

That's sayin' something. I'm pumped.

Like i wrote to Shawn, i can't imagine that anyone would not dig this delay once they've tried it.

To be clear, it doesn't add that euphonic warmth that many analog delays do (but the tape delays that i've played don't). It just works it's magic without changing your tone. That's a big deal to me.
