Members Loobs
So as you guys know I'm usually a tele/asat fiend. Since getting my Cornford (an amp with a master volume and fantastic heavy overdrive sounds) I really want to get a guitar with humbuckers to really get some fat and heavy overdrive sounds at home. My teles sound good but don't really cut it. It'd really be a guitar just for mucking around on at home since I don't really use sounds like that at all with my band. It's to indulge the teenage metalhead that is still alive inside of me more than anything else. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money. So recommend away. $1000/
Members ChuckNorris1982
You liked the Burns Nu-Sonic I got recently, didn't you? I'd highly recommend one. Pick up a new one for about
Members Loobs
That is pretty cool but a little too Fender/Tele like for what I'm looking for. I'm thinking maybe one of those Ibanez SZRs?
Members TomCTC
Why don't you just get a Lil '59 and stick it in one of your Teles? Far cheaper, and to my ears it sounds very close to a Gibson 490T. Tons of mids/output, plus you can always coil split it.
Members Loobs
That did actually cross my mind. That and a mini humbucker or 59 or something inthe neck..

Members TomCTC
I'm gonna steal your whole rig pretty soon. Is it a Highway 1? It is. I want to get a nitro-finished '52 RI neck for it eventually, but the body is relicing perfectly. I love that guitar, I'll never sell it.
Members Loobs
That's awesome. How comes you put gold tuners on it?

Members TomCTC
That's awesome. How comes you put gold tuners on it? I was originally going to do all the hardware in gold, and my drummer was going to get brass rims for his drums. We were going to be pimp. So I ordered in those tuners and put them on, but he couldn't find any rims so we scrapped that whole idea. They work for now but when I get a new neck I'd like to get some Klusons. The pickguard is anodized gold.
Members rdm
I was a Tele guy then made the switch the Reverend guitars. Great Koren made guitars for the money. I'm back to playing a Tele...but the Rev's are still a great buy.

Members Pointer
Sorry to semi-hijack, but on the topic of sc sized humbuckers, would anyone consider the sd quarterpound bridge pup as a good choice for a tele?
Members Loobs
The Quarter Pound is an over-wound single coil, not a single coil sized bucker, btw. I had one in a strat once, it sounded great. Very beefy.

I think it'd look poop in white on a blackguard/butterscotch tele, but thanks anyway.
