Hide your boo boos under a nice bandaid and no one will know

A bandaid isn't a substitute for healthy skills

someday you have to take the bandaid off and walk on your own

don't be ashamed of your scars and imperfections and wrap yourself up like a mummy all the time

FX should supplement skill.

meh.

Effects are part of the entire experience. I use effects as another form of instrument. I find str8 up guitar can become boring after a while. I need new things to keep my interests and creativity flowing. Heavy effects(if used properly) are great at creating a vibe not possible with tube amp/guitar(Radiohead, Deerhunter :blah:).

I love synth sounds but after playing guitar for 20 years its hard to shlep around with a keyboard. I feel so {censored}ing akward with it. I like to create my own synth sounds via guitar. I dont use the regular pedal setup so I think my idea of effects might be different than your average pedal/rack user.

Also, I find im usually not as inspired with a band that dosent use textures and effects. Lots of exceptions of coarse... Q and not U come to mind. I was blown away by their show.
