Members jchas Posted November 29, 2007 Members Share Posted November 29, 2007 My mom actually bought me my first keyboard - a used Farfisa Compact back in 1974 - from there on in I was on my own. But we traveled a lot on summer vacations and she would always help me find a music store in town so I could go check out the stuff that you couldn't find back home. She was always behind my hobby even though she couldn't afford to help me with it.And i'm still a big fan of the S-50. I got mine about the same time as the one in that article. I still have it as well as a S-550. Both have color monitors, a mouse and a tablet (and I agree with the article - the tablet never did much for me). For those looking for a easy to use piece of music history the S-50's are a neat little machine and can be found for around $75. The monitors are a little harder to find. I almost bought the S10 some time before, and then the 50 / 550 came out. Those ads showing the S50 hooked up to that sexy monitor really cinched it. I never did get one, though.
