How bad is the bypass on the Boss PS-5?

Still trying to figure out which one to buy out of the PS5 and the Whammy.

 

Whammy can be modded for true bypass, but the PS5 can't and I don't really want to buy a bypass looper, assuming the bypass is that bad.

 

Any help is much appreciated.

The bypass on the PS5 isn't great but its still very useable without having to isolate it and much better than on the Whammy (i've heard its not to great with direct recording though)

 

The PS5 can make some nice sounds but i'd get the Whammy as it's just alot more practical than having to get down and change settings everytime you want to change pitch, so you can't get classic Whammy sounds with it and an expression pedal doesn't help much

The Detune and T.Arm modes on the PS-5 have really bad latency, the other modes aren't too bad. Also your guitar must be in tune in the Harmonist mode or it will not work.

this... and if you have it in front of a fuzz that oscillates well (fuzz factory, fuzz god 2 etc) you loose all that squeely goodness in t-arm and whammy modes.
