Members andreas
http://www.voxamps.com/us/pedals/wahwah_v845/ I just saw that Vox is releasing a new "affordable" (at $155...) V845 wah. It's certainly lighter than a Dunlop, so it probably uses the same shell as the V847-A. But I wonder what gap they're looking it to fill? /Andreas

Members andreas
That's what I want to know too... could it be that they weren't entirely satisfied with the V847-A, and went back to the simpler V847 circuit? One can hope, I suppose...
Members warioblast
I saw it on HC news a few days ago. I wonder what's inside too.
Members ZoomRmc
Is this chassis a lighter one that is used on some less expensive wahs as modtone?I had 847a - sold it, cause it was not true-bypass, have 848 reissue now - great, but scratchy pot. And I was really impressed by the weight of ModTone Vintage Wah - it's very light, may be VOX put their wah in that type of chassis too?
Members andreas
They state it's just under 1kg, so it's definitely lighter than a regular Dunlop. The V847-A felt quite a bit lighter than a Crybaby too, so I'd assume they're using the same chassis as the -A. /Andreas

Members surfcat
What's with all the concern over the weight? Now they're making them "weight-relieved" ala Gibson?
Members costch
If it's on the floor most of the time, why does weight even matter?
Members JRBain
Based on the specifications of the original pedal developed by VOX in the '60sA) Which one? B) Didn't they say that about the V847, V847A, and doesn't every company make such claims? I'm not convinced. But nonetheless, this is interesting, thanks for sharing. I think I will stick to my 05 Wizard Wah, though.

Members BradVOX
The lighter weight is because it is aluminum. 60's wahs were also aluminum. The other change it that it has no buffer in the circuit. This changes the voicing a good deal.
