Members frankiej
So I kinda need a dirt pedal for my JC-120. I heard it loves fuzz but I never got around to change the batteries on my Monsterpiece so it sounds meh. Need some cheapish/small that will add some grit and beefyness to the clean tone of my JC-120 for when I want some dirt. Think like country dirt and how awesome it sounds
Members Dr.Picklebottom
i dont think a lot of country players use solid state amps, do they? id try getting around to changing the battery in your other pedal before you replace it. Members Mendolin
Maybe its not what you're looking for but my JC-120 shines with a Shredmaster. I also used a Bad Monkey with great results.

Well, it won't be replacing it. A fuzz pedal and a dirt pedal will provide me with quite different results regardless

Members I.P. Freeley
The version 1 Danelectro Drive sounded good on my SS amp. That may be too much dirt for you, though. Maybe the TOD.

Members J.D. Salinger
A Big Muff? IIRC, Billy Corgan was using a JC120 in the beginning.
Members frankiej
Tried a Barber LTD SR last night, sounded pretty decent. The barber pedals did catch my interest a bit. I know the DD is pretty good drive pedal that provides some good beef.
Members falseswipe
I use an OCD and a Musket with my JC120. The OCD definitely can get you a country sound. Musket just sounds great all around. The JC120 is good with dirt pedals, imo.

Turning the distortion barely on will give a fuller (but still clean) sound that works great with a lot dirt pedals.

Indeed, I always do use the second channel. Don't know where my bass and treble knobs are though.
Members petejt
I haven't tried a dirt pedal with my Jazz Chorus amp. But I have slaved my cranked Mesa/Boogie MarkIV into it, even a cranked Engl Fireball valve amp. And damn it sounded killer! Switch the in-built chorus on and BAM! such a big and full sound! Members HeartfeltDawn
RAT and Screwdriver always worked with my JC-120s. You want pedals that create the distortion rather than ones that look to combine with amp distortion. Turning the distortion to around 9 o'clock on the JC-120 does create a fuller sound.
