Your opinion on the blackstar valve pedals

hi there,i`d like to know your opinion on the blackstar valve pedals ,i know there are a few different models but which are the best,thanks.

I had the Dist X for a few months and loved it. It sounded like an overlysaturated high gain amp (what it's ment to sound like). I popped a JJ in there because the stock tube was terrible, only reason I got rid of it is because I got a high gain amp. Quality pedals though, try em out first.

thanks for your reply ,when you say you replaced the valve ,did you have to do anything else to make your replacement valve work to it`s full potential,in what way did it improve the sound.

i wanted an ht-dual for a long time... some fantastic demos out there.. i promptly forgot about it when the suhr riot demos came out..

Well you have to take the whole pedal apart to get at the tube, but it's pretty much the same as replacing a preamp tube in an amp, just pop it out and put in a new one. The stock tube sounded a little thin to my ears, with the JJ it sounded full and awesome, a slight downfall is you have to play with the EQ on your whole rig to get the "sound in your head."

great pedals, the ht dual is an awesome pedal that works with a lot of different amps due to its tone shaping function. Recommended and you can use it as an emulated output so it's easy to use.

Haven't played through one myself, but saw a band about a month ago and the guitar player had the HT-Dual running into a Metropolis Marshall clone, and whether he was playing his strat or les paul he had a fantastic tone all night.

I have the HT- Dual and it's a great pedal. Easily the best drive pedal I've had, probably because of the valve-y goodness.

Can't speak about the Blackstar pedals... but expect a New Blackstar Amp Day from me pretty soon.

i have Blackstar Dist. sounds awesome - but it has switching problems.. so I bought external True-Bypass Box. the best drive stomp pedal i played on
