Members SnorkelMonkey
I had a friend jump to his death from a 10 story window. When they went into his apartment they found he was listening to Trout Mask Replica. I'm not sure if Beefheart's music had anything to do with his death but they said it was a running jump. Just saying...
Members MrChrisos
Love me some Beefheart. I'd say Safe as Milk is the best introducer album. Some fantastic tracks, more accesible, but still wild and raw. Whats going on with embedding?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAoPhVn4y1Q They seem to have changed it. Don't worry about the embed code, just put in the bit after the '=' from the url.

Just saying... might have been the drugs.....I am fascinated by Beefheart/Don Van Vliet, there is a palpable connection between the man and his music and his painting, all three are conscious constructs that he has developed in a seemingly natural way, or at least in a very mannered fashion. His paintings stand up against any of the Neo-Expressionist Art Stars like Per Kirkiby and Sigmar Polke. He is a great deal more than an avant-garde 60's rock star. Members comrade_jon
One of the teachers in my school was famed for an eclectic mix of musical taste Someone found out his password, it was beefheart, we were all way too young to get the reference, years later I find it amusing Nothing happened to his account because everyone loved the man. Must be a connection between music like that and being liked Unlike the Canadian maths teacher whose password was his favourite sport, volleyball...
