Members pbone Posted December 7, 2010 Members Share Posted December 7, 2010 Lately been thinking about ditching my ampeg j-20 and using my bass amp. Looking at maybe getting an emperor 210 to go with it and maybe tossing in an eq pedal to the mix too. I feel like the tens and a tweeter would balance it out some, and then I could always use it for bass too! Right now it would probably mostly be for solo guitar. What say ye? Members Dr.Pain-MD Posted December 7, 2010 Members Share Posted December 7, 2010 I pretty much only use bass amps with guitar, but I will tell you that tweeters and distortion are usually pretty fail. Also, make sure to get a sealed cab because ported bass cabs are usually tuned to low to produce any decent volume and tone for guitar. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Members Dr.Pain-MD Posted December 7, 2010 Members Share Posted December 7, 2010 Well, all of my amps are multi-purpose basically and can be used for both bass and guitar. My main "guitar" amp is a ported 1x15" combo and it sounds really good. It's chimy in the top end, but has a ton of bass if needed. My two other heads I usually run through my sealed 2x15" when I play guitar and it sounds equally awesome. Just make sure there are no tweeters and that your cab is appropriate.
