Members companyman
...is it a tuning stability thing, or just a string tension thing? I do love how they look on a Broadway....
Members Blakemore Effects
The main advantage that I noticed immediately was the sexiness.
Members claytonjohn18
I'm almost certain that someone came up with it after having a normal trapeze style tailpiece, but they weren't content with the string tension it provides. Especially with the Gibson 3x3 headstock, the GBE half of the neck can be a little wacky if you're used to Fender. So, they made them shorter I would have installed it the opposite way, but who knows. I've never played one, so I don't know what it's like from a practicality standpoint.
