Members companyman
....for polishing an Epiphone Dot Studio's "worn" finish to something a bit more glossy? I find it kind of unpleasant to touch the surface when I play, just feels strange.....I tried using some Gibson polish and a bunch of rubbing, no results.... Members companyman
Tung Oil and buffing possibly? hmmmm.....would you remove any of the finish prior to applying the Tung oil, or just start buffing it in?

Members the Dodo
Try to rub a minimal amount of oil on it. If you polish it for a few minutes the finish will get more glossy but it wont stick
Members companyman
maybe some rubbing compound, then some sort of low gloss polish?

Members placebo62
This stuff is supposed to be very good for getting a glossy finish from a non-glossy guitar http://www.virtuosopolish.com/
Members companyman
the Epi Dot Studio worn brown, hard to describe....satin I guess....quite matte. It gets kind of shiny where your skin touches it after time, just want to speed-up the process a bit.

Certain types would require different polishes, etc. Like, polyeurethane vs oil finish vs nitro vs polyesther etc.

Members placebo62
you're welcome I actually bought some when I got my '57 Les Paul Custom VOS because I thought I wanted to gloss it up a bit but I've since decided to leave it as is. Members companyman
it is more a feel thing, than a look thing....I don't intend to polish a turd too much here...the finish just feels weird.
