Members gambit
you how you use your inner metronome while looping, play the phrase then at the very end of the phrase start recording so its all seamless?... how do get around that with long/slow volume swells decked in massive reverb? do you hit record with the volume full up so that the loop completes seamlessly when you end the loop-recording? or do you just hit record, and start the swell? Members ItchyFingers
If I'm doing swells or long sustained notes, I'll usually leave that for one of the last layers I loop. You're right though - its tough to get them spot on and seamless if they are going throughout the loop. Then again, if I'm using loops, I'll usually try to mangle them on purpose... Members Faldoe
it helps to have a looper that can go straight to overdub when you hit play. Can't really get seamless loops on the headrush. DL-4 does the straight to overdub thing.
Members gambit
yeah, straight to overdub seems to be the key i think. thanks.. how about volume pedal swelling into a reverb, with output into drives.. i'm wondering if i can get a decent amount of control at my feet for getting the reverb to push the overdrive into breakup, without the attack of hitting the string. Members 4nd3h
I have no idea how to start a loop with swells and have it be in time. I always do at least a soft chord progression as the first layer.
