I'll second this. Had a Pharaoh which cut just fine. Didn't like it all that much, but it did cut through the mix. Had a V3 Supercollider which also cut really well. Now that I DID love, but I'd strongly recommend the V3 as the mode I liked best (loudest, least compression, most mids) isn't on the earlier models.

Not to be a douche but I hear distortion (and I am sure so does Polt) when I hear a rat. Just saying.

yeah these generally cut pretty good, though are still mid-scooped

Having a closed back Cab on your amp helps

feeding your fuzz into on OD pedal helps

EQ after the fuzz helps, to boost mids

feeding a boost into a fuzz (like a rangemaster clone) works well

There are lots of fuzz pedals that cut, it's just finding the sweet spot and best pedal/amp/guitar combo to do so.
