Regular people are being urged not to buy gas on that day as well. Would everyone striking on 1 or even 2 days out of a week really make any difference, bearing in mind that those same people will make up for what they didn't spend that day or two during other days of the week? I could see if people stop using as much gas via driving a lot less, possibly getting more fuel-efficient transportation, carpooling, taking a bus, walking, bicycling or [gulp...] moped-ing (are those things still around~?), etc., but not just staying their hand at paying for gas a day or two only to make up for it a day or two before or after then.
