Members Zorran II
Hey guys, i just thought i might ask those of you who are more experienced than me about their playing, technique and injusries? a few days back i started getting some pain in the bottom third of my left index finger (just before the knuckle) . and now i kinda feel like its spreading. ive been playing for about 3 years now , and i know theres guitarist here whove been playing 10 times that long. all i want to do is play till i dont feel like anymore, hopefully when im 65 or something. i dont want to damage this any further, so im resting it, and doing a few stretches every now n then, except for typing this message. all i want to know is, should i be concerned? or just give it rest and itll go away? your help it appreciated, zorran

Members The Hogester
Just rest it for a week mate. I get problems with my thumb on my picking hand sometimes. I have no choice but to leave it to rest.

Members Zorran II
thanks acle and aspect, i just dont want to injure this any further. acle id prolly suggest to look into it if it develops a tad, could hace long term consequences, or like some {censored} right before your tesseract world tour. Members Zorran II
@ aspect : bro thats kinda worrying, my thumb has neve ever come close to hurting. neither has that of any guitarist ive spoken to. id suggest to look into your technique, and possibly see if theres a slight problem there, could quite easily lie there. sucky topic, but one im sure alot of us have gone through
Members The Hogester
I dunno whether its the joint or the tendons. Im not quite sure what i can do about it other than rest. It doesnt seem serious enough to waste my doctors time about.

I used to have to warm my hands under hot water before and use and Ice pack after playing. Theyre better now but thats because I think I warm up better Makes sure that the Dr you see is a hand specialist. See If he has done repetitive stress treatment with musicians( they are out there) I prescribe a nice fatty:cool: Better safe than sorry little Bro!!! It is probably just generic inflamation/tendonitis,etc. And as we all know, you want to try to decrease the inflammation. So,ice it and take ibu or aspirin.
