Ohh... math make my head hurt...

Motif XS: 128 (S+S)

Andy: 16 (Analog VCO)

TX802: 16 (6-op FM)

D-550: 16 (LA)

Microkorg: 4 (VA) (well, if I ever bother to hook it up)

So... carry the 1... I before E except after C-sharp... and I come up with...

176.. or 180 with the Microkorg. :D

Toss in a few softies and I could break 200...

Who voted >9000!? :poke: Whoever did, must post a sound clip of a unison patch using all 9000+ of those voices! :cop:

I've tried that, actually!

Nice technique, but not too practical for my music and singing style, so I remain monophonic.

Well, let us not be hasty. Think outside the box a little...

1) Master throat singing

2) Run all of your vocals through Autotune () set to maximum warp

3) ...

4) Profit!!!1!!

:thu:

Actually, I wonder what Autotune would do with a signal like that. Hrmm, someone put Jay-Z on the next flight to Tibet and book him studio time with some monks!

People presently producing padded posts presume "polyphony" perfectly proper prattle. Probing players' personal preferences, per polls, probably precipitates present popular position.

Poor players ponder polyphony, peevish players pooh-pooh polyphony. Prolific professionals (presumably post-production prodigies) prefer powerful polyphony. Perhaps.

Perhaps public perception pertaining polyphony-poor pieces (preferring puerile production) provides proof positive popularity prefers paucity. Passable pieces proliferate. Palatable pleasures? Possibly. Provocative? Please...

Pompous paucity plunders Progress proper, panders Profit, prevents personality, pre-emptively punishes plurality, pleases plastic peer-starved popularity.

Practiced polyphony pushes the envelope, yes?
