inspired by Kage's Meniketti thread...

sure REO became light weight sissies..but the guy had taste, tone and chops that went largley unnoticed IMHO....

the live "you get what you play for" is a 70's rock guitar masterpiece!!!!!

Strangely I am drawn to his playing more and more recently. I think Riding the Storm

Out and Roll with the Changes is a great show of his sense of lead melody(although a bit drunk at times Ive read and heard) Hell REO filled packed arenas for about 15 years and had many top 100 hits mid and latter times. I think they were just touring reunited not long ago.

Yes! Big fan. I always thought his playing was a bit quirky though. I love the old live album too. Golden Country! I read an old interview with him where he talks about his gear and the type of sounds he likes to get. Kind of cool. Pre 80's interviews of guitar players were less oriented towards gear than in later years. (After EVH!)

+1

That ain't him.

This is the most off-base pic posting I've seen since that one dick tried to convince us he and his friends had met Dave Murray and posted a pic of them with some dude who was at least 60 pounds heavier than Dave.
