Members t-rave
change this to a Rik Emmitt thread could do that...although Triumph's catalogue also became an embarrasement before they called it a day:thu:
Members V-Type
Strangely I am drawn to his playing more and more recently. I think Riding the Storm Out and Roll with the Changes is a great show of his sense of lead melody(although a bit drunk at times Ive read and heard) Hell REO filled packed arenas for about 15 years and had many top 100 hits mid and latter times. I think they were just touring reunited not long ago.
Members Pepi
I meet Gary many years ago and he was a very nice guy. Sometimes I though his playing was a bit to high-speed

Members petelaramee
The live thing they did with 257 Riverside avenue (or was it 357;) ) made me realize there was more to him than "I can't fight this feeling anymore".

Members Flyjar
I've always dug Richrath's style and he had that classic Les Paul / Marshall tone. Besides his chops, I wanted to copy the killer pick scrapes he used so often.
Members kush06
I'm not really a fan, but I love the guitar work on Roll With the Changes. I think I still own Hi Infidelity on vinyl, from early gradeschool years.

Members legend71
Yes! Big fan. I always thought his playing was a bit quirky though. I love the old live album too. Golden Country! I read an old interview with him where he talks about his gear and the type of sounds he likes to get. Kind of cool. Pre 80's interviews of guitar players were less oriented towards gear than in later years. (After EVH!)

This is the most off-base pic posting I've seen since that one dick tried to convince us he and his friends had met Dave Murray and posted a pic of them with some dude who was at least 60 pounds heavier than Dave. Members Matter-Eater Lad
I don't know. I heard the live "Ridin The Storm Out" recently and I just kept thinking he sucks. I started playing in '79. REO was all over the radio but I can't say he impressed me.
Members Andersonology
Ok, maybe that's not him. I do remember seeing him on one those "Behind the Music" shows, and he looked really fried. Too much alkyhall. This is definitely him here.
