Members drs448
At rehearsals I noticed a change in volume from my amp when I switched from my standard tuned guitar to my d-tuned guitar. Is it because of the slacker strings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Members Lucius
I'll bet its the pickups. Cheers Lucius
Members drs448
I thought of that, but my sg tuned to drop-c has a Iommi humbucker in it which I thought was a hotter pu.

Members drs448
Any of you guys who use different tunings during your set notice a drop in volume when you change to the lower tuned guitar?
Members sick x shred
it might just be an illusion, an open low E string might be brighter and more in your face than an open low B string, giving the illusion that it's louder. Tune both your guitars to E and see if there's a change between them. If so then you could look into your pickups. The output of the pickups, the distance from the strings on both guitars, (are they active? do they need a new battery?), is the wiring loose/faulty in some way? Members drs448
I just put the Iommi in my sg the lowered tuned guitar. I will tune it up and compare and take it from there. Thanks sick.
