What causes an amp to buzz/hum?

About a million things can cause a guitar amp to buzz/hum. Could be one of many components of the amp, could be the guitar, cables, grounding issue with the power supply; the list goes on. Sorry, I know that's not much help. It's kind of like trying to answer the question, "why is my car not running well?"

I plugged in a few other guitars and no difference.

So I don't think it's guitars or cables...

I was plugged right into the wall....maybe going througha power strip would help?

Why would a power strip make a difference? :freak: Are you near a TV,comp monitor, etc? Neon /flourescent lightslights on the same circuit? Space heaters with a fan can make amps noisy.
