Members wanky
Okay, the market is full of amps touting thier "lead" capabilities. What's a good all tube head with 4x12 strictly for rhythm playing - classic and progressive rock styles. I know you can use just about amy amp depending on your taste, especially ones with good clean channels, but are there any that are preffered over others for strict rythm playing? Many headliner bands play a recorded rhythm guitar track in live perfomances and this just strikes me as wrong. Why not just hire another guitar player? It's not like there aren't enough good musicians looking for work. marshall DSL's lead 1 or the lead 2 with some graphic or parametric eq after the preamp, JVM?, the 5150/5150 IIs, with moderate use of gain on lead channel. My crate blue voodoo has great rythm tone, the leads are good enough but far from the the best, some engls(i forgot which models specifically, have a very tight grinding tone which is great for rythm, ive heard clips of madisons that have nice crunchy sounds, vlave king are decent for rythms, but they don't have enough top end IMO, but keeping in mind im the type of player that turns up the presence and treble very high it may suit you
