Lets bring this thread back it is very informative!!! I got my blackout metal about 3 weeks ago, I put it in my guitar that had an emg 81 in it. I put the 81 back in. The SD had tons of output on both switch settings just sounded funny to me, there were way more lows than the emg and way more mids, too much mids for me. With my setup the emg was just clearer especially on the low notes. Im gonna sell the SD, anyone want to buy it? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Members The Rossness Posted October 13, 2008 Members Share Posted October 13, 2008 I've played on the Dave Mustaine actives. They were much better than EMG's. I hate the 81 by the way. I am not getting along with the 81 right now even with the 18v mod. I have a blackout AHB-2 supposed to be here probably tomorow, thats why I was wanting to know if that was the one iroc didnt like. Supposed to be more mids than the orig blackouts, which I liked and wish I still had that guitar that had the AHB-1 set in it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
