They've already had their career, now they are just having fun. I'm pretty damn impressed with any band who is still alive today that originated in the late 70's early 80's - and that are still kicking around with a hardcore fanbase. Go to any metallica concert, there will be alot of people. Nobody can really bring back the 80's, but I'm just glad metallica are still writing their own music unlike many other bands out there. IMO they still have the 'St-Anger' sound, and some punkish rock (KEA Style) - mixed in with some 'Load/reload' - maybe a sprinkle of older stuff.
