Members ¤ Matt ¤
I'm looking for a decent rack effects unit with all the usual effects. Preferably 1U. I've owned a rocktron prophesy in the past and I liked the effects on there so I've been considering an Intellifex. The TC Electronics stuff also gets mentioned a lot, is it any good? Members gargamelesp
the g major is pretty much the "standard" around that price range. i own one and the effects are great with absolutely no colouring to the tone at all. I have an invader 150 myself and i put the g major in loop 1 and i couldnt tell the difference when i bypassed the g major and i switched to loop 2. however, the xpression is another rival for the g major at that price point but i dont have any experience with that. Members ¤ Matt ¤
Ok, thanks. Are you using a midi controller?
Members gargamelesp
i havent gotten around to getting one yet, but ill probably go with the ground control pro soon. i used to own a midi mate but i didnt like how the buttons were spaced and you couldnt really feel if you had it engaged
Members Oblivion DC
The Intellifex is a nice unit and you can get them cheap. It doesn't do the tip-to-ground switching that the G-Major does but it's got an incredible chorus. If I could find one for sale I'd pick up the Replifex. I hear they are great units and they also do the switching that the G-Major does.
Members Cougar Hunter
So far, I really like the RSP (Rocktron) Intelliverb. It's like an intellifex turbo
Members tiltsta
I have a rocktron replifex. Really awesome unit. It basically was designed to mimic the sound of stomp boxes....but in a 1U rack space. Sounds great. Effects are not quite as nice as the intellifex, but to me the replifex sounds better. Members Keebz
I had the Intellifex and wasn't too happy with it.It was very basic and all the effects were not "modern sounding" enough for me since it was the early 90's model. I'm using the Alesis Midiverb4 right now, and it does a much better job IMO. I don't think this unit was created specifically for guitar though, but it does the job great and the chorus and delays are much more lush, compared to the Intellifex. Members NixerX
Midiverb is cool but its not as easy to edit as the Gmajor. My favorite is the Digitech GSP256. I had one for YEARS and loved it.
Members shredhead7
Alesis Quadraverb - easy to edit, fairly transparent (delays and reverbs). The chorus is 80's all the way, but for just delay and reverb, sounds great and is a steal at around $80.
Members branjispad
midiverbs color your sound way too much...
Members TU BE
When did Best Buy start selling guitar gear? Well, I guess if Wal-Mart can carry guitar strings......
Members Shask
The general answer is TC GMajor, and Rocktron Intellifex/Replifex/Xpression/Multivalve
